Dermatitis affecting the skin on the underarm of a six year old boy. Dermatitis is an itchy inflammation of the skin. This case of dermatitis was caused by irritation from molluscum contagiosum poxvirus nodules (raised lesions). Dermatitis can be treated with soothing ointments and corticosteroid drugs. Treatment of molluscum contagiosum can be done by using chemicals, or with the use of liquid nitrogen to freeze and remove the lesions.
