Germany Before the First World War 1890 - 1914 Official Christmas card of Kaiser Wilhelm II sent to Hugh, 5th Earl of Lonsdale in 1903. The card features a photograph showing the ceremonial arrival of the Kaiser and Kaiserin Auguste by horsedrawn carriage at Merseburg during the German Army manoeuvres of September 1903. It bears the Kaiser's handwritten caption and greetings in English.
