'Rochefoucault', (1613-1680), 1830. Francois de La Rochefoucauld (1613-1680) French author of memoirs, nobleman known as Prince de Marcillac. Married aged 15 to Andree de Vivonne, under patronage he joined service to Queen Anne of Austria. Cardinal Richelieu sentenced him to eight days in the Bastille and exiled him to his fathers estates.
