A part of the latter business it lost when the Folsom andPlacerville Railroad was built, but its progress was only delayed, asit still continued to be the supply point for distribution to a vastterritory, including a large portion of Nevada. Seldom now are thejingling bells of the mule team heard on its streets and the prairieschooner laden with freight has become a very rare sight on itsstreets. Folsom being on the American river and having proved tobe surrounded by rich placers, grew quickly to an important town,polling at one time in the early days over two thousand votes. Of.
