Spain, Extremadura, Badajoz. Partial view of the San Juan Bautista Cathedral (Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist). Its construction began by order of bishop Pedro Pérez in 1230. In 1276 the temple was consecrated under the invocation of Saint John the Baptist, although the construction work was still in progress. The work continued until the 15th century, and during the 16th and 17th centuries renovations and variations were undertaken that have given it its current appearance.
