The Dome of the rock is not a mosque, but a Muslim shrine and is built over a sacred stone believed to be the place from which the Prophet Muhammad ascended into heaven during his Night Journey to heaven. The Western Wall, Wailing Wall or Kotel is located at the foot of the western side of the Temple Mount. It is a remnant of the ancient wall that surrounded the Jewish Temple's courtyard, and is one of the most sacred sites in Judaism outside of the Temple Mount itself. Jews from around the world come to pray at the wall.
