The Alamo fell to Mexican troops lead by General Santa Anna on March 6, 1836 after a 12 day siege of the mission that began on February 23rd. "Remember the Alamo" became the Texans rally cry who when on to defeat Santa Anna at the Battle of San Jacinto in April, six weeks later.
