During the 1920s and 1930"s Mrs Susan McGrath, with her pet sheep, held drovers to entice their mobs of sheep across the bridge spanning the Murrumbidgee River near Hay. By leading her pets across the bridge, flocks of up to 10,000 sheep would follow the pet sheep rather than needing to be hearded across the structure.
