The terrible ice storm, mentioned in last week's Review, commenced on the morning of November 26 and continued until November 28, rain falling all that time, with the temperature below freez- ing. The consequent weight of the ice on the trees was terrible, and a large area in Massachusetts and some parts of other New England states suffered enormous damage. Hundreds of miles of telephone and electric light wires are still down. Many towns and cities are de- pendent upon gas, oil or candles for light. The street car service in many sections is abandoned.
