Welwitschia plant (Welwitschia mirabilis) photographed on the Welwitschia drive, Namibia. This plant which has only two leaves, can live for over a thousand years and it is thought that some individuals may be up to two thousand years old. It is found in the deserts of Namibia and Angola where it survives by absorbing moisture from the morning desert dew. A permit is required in order to see the plant.
