N. Asia.— It is considered to be a valuabletree for hot and dry interior climates; and it also hasdistinct merit for ornamental planting. It eventuallybecomes a large tree. The Populus laurifoUa and pyramidalis of American nurserymen are,apparently, only minor variations of this type. Thesetrees are amongst the recent introductions of RussianPoplars.
