The Bursera, almácigo, carat or cholo PELA (Bursera simaruba) is a beautiful tree-American about 5 to 12 meters high and 10 to 60 cm in diameter, with cylindrical trunk branched at low altitude and irregular and scattered glass. It features dry, so it grows in arid climates and savannah of the intertropical zone. Its trunk and branches have a significant copper color when they become adults, which explains its behalf by its resemblance to the skin color of indigenous people. It has an internal bark and bright green, with chloroplasts that help in photosynthesis during the dry season. It grows almost anywhere, as can be seen in the picture, taken at the Ingenio San Mateo Bolivar (Aragua, Venezuela). It is growing longer and also long-lived. An interesting example of tree with possible use to reforest outstanding, albeit highly inclined and in very poor soils. It's official tree of Danlí (El Paraiso, Honduras). It is also called jiñicuado. In Nicaragua is called jiñocugo. In Linac (El Paraiso department) is called "naked Indian" (in English Naked Indian tree). Also jiñicuite. In Honduras is considered a "tree prendono '(ie, it easily' turn 'if they simply nailed a stake in the ground) as the madriago and pinion, which are used for posts in fences, trimming the branches of each year for firewood. According to House and others, is called jiñocuabo or copón. According to Membreño the name comes from the Nahuatl jiocuáuitl): "It is remarkable for its trunk entirely smooth and color raddle. It also prepares a nice punch with the crust and put to boil an egg with chicken added.
