In Asia themajority of the telephones are concentrated in Japan; buteven so the Japanese had only telephones per 100 inhabi-tants. Telephones in Large and Small Communities One fact clearly brought out by the annual survey is thatin the United States ample telephone facilities are providednot only in the more densely populated urban centers, but inthe less populated sections as well.
