Sucre, Bolivia - 25 May 2018 Laguna Colorada (red lagoon) is aptly named. Its startling red colors derive from both dissolved red mineral deposits and algae; these contrast with blinding white white borax deposits. Located in the Bolivian altiplano, close to Chile, this is one of South America's most beautiful salt lakes. But then I got adventurous and turned it into something more colorful and abstract, using a combination of Photoshop techniques including multi-layer blending, simple folding transformations and gradient mapping. I hope you like it!
