Drift of Icebergs: Graphic Account. This chart demonstrates the general drift direction of the icebergs, shows the currents which propel them, and indicates their main sources in and around the Greenland peninsula. During the war, though the International Ice Patrol was suspended because of scarcity of ships for that plus other Coast Guard duties, this service maintained the Greenland Patrol, which kept track of weather changes and general location of ice fields in addition to its regular activities. The Ice Patrol, by order of the President, is being resumed this March.
