SPECIFIC GRAVITY. The density of a body is measured by its specific grav-ity, which represents the weight of a substance comparedwith the weight of an equal volume of water. It is a usefulproperty in comparing relative weights of bodies. Thus abody with specific gravity of 4 weighs twice as much bulkfor bulk as one with gravity of 2.
