A German estoc, 1st quarter of the 16th century. A straight, lightly hollow ground, quadrangular blade. Iron quillons formed of two rings with a spirally chiselled spherical bulge and a copper-soldered scabbard sleeve. Pear-shaped iron pommel chiselled in a deep spiral. The wooden grip has a well-made replacement leather grip cover over cord wrapping. Signs of heavy corrosion in places. Length 117 cm. Cf.
