LOUIS, MO. The Market. All through the last week the local wholesale market was clogged with stock of everything seasonable, as the demand the early part of the week was slow. The retailers said the hot weather caused them to buy sparingly, as there was little doing outside of funeral work. The latter part of the week the de- mand increased somewhat, and stock moved with more satisfaction to the wholesaler. There were a number of advance orders placed for Memorial day, for both local delivery and ship- ping. The wholesale cut flower market had plenty of peonies in all grades, although all expected them to be over long before this time. Local and outside shipments ran into many thousands. Eoses wore in large supply and only few had quality, as the hot weather is telling on them, and many shipments came in wide open. Premier and Co- lumbia are among the best, while Kil- larney, Ophelia and Milady do not hold in Inid like tlie first two mentioned. Carnations are fine, and while there is no overjiroduction at present, there were plenty all week. Enchantress va- rieties. Ward and Nebraska are among the best and in greatest demand. Shipments of cape jasmines from Texas were in abundance, and Memorial day demands cleaned them up. Sweet peas were a glut the early part of the week and many were dumped; the bulk of the stock was short-stemmed. In the miscellaneous stock we find plenty of lilies, callas, daisies, snap- Tbe sizes given here are carried in stock, in the popular MIST-GRAY and GREEN colors. 5% DISCOUNT CAS
