A history of the British sessile-eyed Crustacea . he obtained a male and fivefemales of that species from the carapace of a Cheloniamydas, thrown upon the shore near Ostend, which wouldindicate a carnivorous condition of life for that species. In a memoir on the relation which this genus holdsto the order of Isopoda,* Prof. Lilljeborg unites inthis genus not only Crossurus of Rathke, but also Para-tanais and Leptochelia of Dana. By so doing he findshimself compelled to commence by separating thatdivision of the genus which carry two branches to theposterior pair of pleopoda from those that carry butone.
