In terms of the deed of settlement,Dr. Anderson assumed the surname ofSeton, and was thereafter designed JamesAnderson-Seton in all legal documentsconnected with the estate of Mounie. Smith), who assumed the surname of Sligo. Alexander, the eldest son, succeeded his mother, who died 26thNovember 1788. The following epitaph, by her surviving spouse, sets forth the characterand merits of the heiress of Mounie :— SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF MARGARET SETON who never intentionally gave pain to any living creature.
