There are no hardy bulbous plants which have more points of merit than the Narcissus or Daffodils. Per- fectly hardy, growing and doing well in almost, any and every position, sun or shade, moist or dry. All condi- tions seem to suit them although they have a preference for a good, deep soil and semi-shaded position and every vacant corner in the garden, amongst the grass, under the trees, etc., etc., could not be used to better advantage than by filling with Narcissus, and every hardy border should have a number of clumps interspersed through it. They are equally suitable for pot culture for winter flowering. Three or four bulbs can be put into a 5-inch or 6-inch pan or pot, and. with the same treatment as given to Hyacinths, thedull winter and early spring months can be made bright with their exquisite gold and silver blossoms. But it is outdoors that Narcissus do best, and once planted need little attention, the as a rule multiplying and giving larger and finer results each year
