(llotacea*) As a class, Potentillas are of the highest ornamental merit, botli in the habit of growth anil the foliage of the plant, as well as in their immense blooming qualities. The species are of a bushy habit, and generally bloom in large, broad panicles held well above the foliage, while the named varieties produce flowers in constant succession throughout a long season, and vary in different degrees of semi-double and double forms of flowers, and combine a wide range of color. All are brilliant and effective, and are of easiest culture in any good garden soil. They have proved perfectly hardy. A class we can especially recommend. Charming for the border or for massing.
