Eerie show the deserted underground mines at the former RAF Fauld underground munitions storage depot where seventy people were killed after a huge explosion on November 27th 1944. The explosion destroyed a nearby reservoir causing 450,000 cubic metres of water to flood the area, adding to the damage caused by the initial explosion. Other pictures show the crumbling remains of buildings that were used by workers in the underground tunnels and the damage that was caused by the explosion, with parts of the site having fallen in. The images were captured by sales adviser Jason Kirkham (44) from Fauld in Staffordshire after he heard of an entrance to the restricted site.
