The Perthshire Pitcairns are a cadet branch of the Pit-cairns of Forthar and Pitcairn in Fife, and of Innernethyin Perthshire. John Pitcairn, son of John Pitcairn, born1743, Burgess of Perth, one of the descendants of thisfamily, acquired the estate of Pitcairns, which is situatedin the village of Dunning, Perthshire. The present houseis a comparatively new one, having been built about ahundred years ago by John Pitcairn after he bought theproperty. Pitcairns House is beautifully situated: there is
