Track build begins 10 days prior to event and takes 3 days to return to normal. Planning for the following years event starts the day after the race finishes. One lap of beach is aroun 7Km and takes World Champion Jeffrey Herling 12 minutes and the average rider takes 25minutes. 14 Km of safety barriers. 200,000 tons of sands is moved and shaped into huge obstacles which involves aroun 55,000 man hours over the course of the weekend.
