A middle-sized serving platter from the table silver, dated 1840, the Tsar's court jeweller, Nichols & Plinke, St. Petersburg Silver with a scalloped leafy rim, bearing the engraved monogram "ON" under the Russian crown on the border with the crowned Russian double-headed eagle opposite. The bottom displays the stamped mark "N & P" for Nichols & Plinke, the work master's mark "" (Henrik August Long), St. Petersburg hallmark for "84" zolotniki, and the inspection mark for Dmitry Ilich Tverskoi "1840".
