The improved forms of this beautiful flower have placed them in the same rank popularly as the Hardy Phloxes and Pceonias. Coming into flower about the middle of June and continuing for five or six weeks, they fill in a period when flowers of this attrac- tive type are particularly welcome. They succeed in almost any soil and position, but respond quickly to liberal treatment. They like rich soil and plenty of water when they are forming their buds and developing their flowers. We offer one of the choicest collections, each one distinct and desirable, and comprising both three- and six-petalled varieties— the six-petalled sorts having the heaviest, showiest flowers, while those with the three petals are, perhaps, the most artistic. Both are equally valuable as cut flowers, for which purpose they should be cut in the bud state, permitting the blooms to expand after being placed in water. Order hy name or iiiirnbcr.
