Bunionette on a 53 year old woman's foot. A bunionette, or tailor's bunion, is a swelling of the joint between the little toe and the first metatarsal joint. It causes the base of the little toe to project outwards and the tip of it to point inwards. Bunions are caused by the rubbing of ill- fitting shoes. The deformity can be corrected surgically.
