Marshal Maurice de Saxe, Battle of Fontenoy, 11 May 1745 (20th century). Fontenoy was a battle fought during the War of the Austrian Succession. Marshal de Saxe commanded the French army to victory over the British under the Duke of Cumberland. From an anti-British brochure titled Who has been the enemy of France through History? The artist is unknown.
