Milk teeth. Close-up of the mouth of a child showing milk teeth. The milk (primary) teeth appear between the ages of six months and three years. There are 10 milk teeth in each jaw, consisting of two molars and one canine on each side, and four incisors across the front. From the age of six the milk teeth are gradually replaced by the 32 adult (secondary) teeth.
