Woman in costume of Lisieux. She wears a pink and blue ribbon tied to her bavolet bonnet. She wears a lace shawl, black apron, crimson dress, sky blue gloves and carries an umbrella. Hand-colored fashion plate illustration by Benoit Pecheux engraved by Gatine from Louis-Marie Lante's "Costumes des femmes du Pays de Caux," 1827/1885. With their tall Alsation lace hats, the women of Caux and Normandy were famous for the elegance and style.
