The business of the exchange has ad- vanced regularly in volume as the years have gone by, there being scarcely any instance of the sales falling behind those of the preceding year. In the past five years the gross has nearly doubled. The directors under whose management the building was erected have shown energy, judgment and liberality in dealing with the problems meeting them. Those now in office are as follows: Edwin A. Seidewitz, president; Wm. G. Lehr, sec- retary; C. Edward Akehurst, treas- urer; Isaac H. Moss, Fred'k C. Bauer, John M. Rider, Wm. Feast. The steady growth and well-main- tained success of the exchange is large- ly due, doubtless, to the wise discretion of the directors in the selection of its manager. John J. Perry, who has held the post for the past five years, com- bines thorough knowledge of the re- quirements of the trade, sound judgment, exceptional tact and pleasant address. He has the gift of initiative; energetic, prompt and business-like, he does not wait for trade, he goes after it. The duties are trying at times, but he has gained the confidence of the patrons of the institution, and proved himself a conscientious as well as efficient officer, achieving for the exchange a sound reputation in commercial circles. S. B. John J. Perry. Manager Baltimore Fiorists' Exchange. etc. The cost of the building including the lot was about $30,000, all of which has been fully paid. The stock
