Each sub-station nas two 3C0-kw rotary converters and abank of three static transformers of 225 kw each, the latterbeing provided with two secondaries, so that the two rotariescan be run from one set of transformers. A view in thesub-station between Lebanon and Frankfort is shown in One peculiarity of this sub-station is the omission of alter-nating-current rotary converter switchboard panels. Thispractice, while not entirely new, has only recently been intro-duced in sub-station work. The high-tension oil switch con-trolling the high-tension circuit to the bank of transformers isoperated by a lever in front of the bank of transformers. Theonly switch in the 360-volt alternating-current circuit of therotary converter is the switch which is mounted on the react-ance coil, which serves as a starting switch when the rotaryconverter is being started with alternating cur
