Mollusc collections held by natural history museums in the Great Lakes region were the primary sources of information, accounting for over two-thirds of the data acquired. The only records available in comput- erized format were those of the Ohio State University Museum of Zoology (OSUMZ). Records from the Canadian Museum of Nature (CMN) were computer- ized at our request, and included all uncatalogued material from the study area.
