Dean Clough Mill, Halifax, West Yorkshire, England UK

Dean Clough in Halifax, Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England was built 1840–60 for Crossley's Carpets and was the largest carpet factory in the world, (two thirds of a mile long and 1,250,000 square feet (116,000 m2) of floorspace). After various changes of use it closed in 1983 but opened again under Sir Ernest Hall and is now seen as a leading example of successful urban regeneration. The converted mills of Dean Clough became a large business park. It hosts about 200 small and large businesses and arts ventures including the local VAT office, RSA Insurance Group, Department for Work and Pensions offices, the Crossley Gallery and several other art galleries, Phoenix Radio FM has it's studios based here, and the Viaduct Theatre, home base for the Northern Broadsides theatre company.
