KERALA, INDIA: CUTE images capture Baya weaver birds racing to build their elaborate nest in the magical photographic golden-hour. One image shows a male Baya weaver racing to bring grass to construct his nest while another image shows three Baya weavers attempting to claim a nest as the golden sun was setting. Baya weaver birds are known for their elaborate nest-weaving skills, with the male baya weaver birds building the nests as a mating ritual to attract the female birds. Baya weaver birds are roughly six inches in length with an approximate weight of ounces. A male baya weaver bird is known to make up to 500 trips to complete a nest. When the nest is partially completed, the female inspects the nest and if she likes the nest, she stays and the male completes the nest. Anandhu Murali (30), a Senior Software Engineer, captured adorable images of over ten baya weaver birds racing in Changaramkulam, Kerala, India using a Nikon D500 with Nikon 200-500mm lens. Anandhu came across these baya weavers when he was walking barefoot in a paddy field to take some photos of parakeets, but then saw the elaborate nest and knew that these were baya weaver birds. ?In one corner of the paddy field I saw the nests of baya weaver birds?, said Anandhu. ?I had to walk almost one mile barefoot through the paddy field to reach this place with the birds. ?But I couldn?t see any birds there initially because the daylight was very bright. ?I waited until the evening, and there were close to ten or 15 birds near the nests and the lighting conditions were amazing for taking Anandhu said he needed to keep a distance from the birds and was 656 feet away from them. ?I always maintain a safe distance from the birds and other wildlife animals while photographing them?, said Anandhu. ?I always make sure that my presence doesn't disturb or threaten them. ?It was the time of s
