Space Hostages by Nicholas Fisk was written in 1967. This edition is a 1978 reprint of a 1970 Puffin Book. Puffin is the Penguin imprint for children's books. This book tells the story of a group of children kidnapped by an RAF lieutenant in a nuclear powered flying saucer built to house the British government in a nuclear war. The lieutenant has stolen the ship but is dying of radiation poisoning. How will the children get back to earth? It was written in a heightened era of the Cold War.
