Coldstream Musuem which was General Monck's headquarters before he marched his regiment to London in 1860, they were to become the Coldsteam Guards
This small local museum in Coldstream's historic market place traces the history of the area and includes a special exhibition on the famous Coldstream Guards regiment. The museum stands on the site of the building where General Monck stayed in 1660 before he marched south fording the Tweed in January in a hard winter on the 'Long March' with his Regiment (which became the Coldstream Guards) to put Charles II on the throne.
