Nanorobot in the bloodstream, computer artwork. Nanorobots is a term used to describe future microscopic robots that could have a wide range of uses. The medical uses could include the targeted delivery of drugs. This nanorobot is an injector, containing a yellow liquid that it will inject into a red blood cell using its needle tip. It moves in the blood stream using propellers, like on a submarine. Red blood cells (erythrocytes) transport oxygen from the lungs to body cells and remove carbon dioxide for exhalation. They are the most abundant cell in the blood. They have no nucleus, and are about 7 micrometres in diameter.
