There is, it is true,no such wealth of artistic fancy as is shown by Antique Lamps; butstill some good examples may be found among the two or threefundamental forms of the Paraffin-lamp, with which we have mostlyto do. Metal, glass, porcelain, and majolica, again appear as a general rule we have a profiled foot, on which the oil-receiverrests, from which latter the burner, chimney, and globe rise, (figs. 1and 2).
