The Detroit, Ypsilanti & AnnArbor Railway Company, of Detroit, Mich., is now installing aline that affords an excellent illustration of the operation of thebooster system. The total length of the line is thirty-two andone-half miles, and there are two power stations, one at Dearbornand the other at Ypsilanti, the distance between them being the two stations. Each booster feeder will be about seven andone-half miles long. These boosters will be driven by a motor,the armature of which will be mounted upon the sameshaft as the booster armature.
