Manchester Castlefield and Beetham Tower
An infrared shot the remains of one of the winch wheels on the site of Grocers Warehouse, commemorating the point at which coal, the supply of which became instrumental in Manchester's pivotal role in the Industrial Revolution, was first landed in Manchester. The skewed viaduct of the old Manchester South Junction and Altrincham Railway (MSJ & AR), which is now used to carry the metro line, and the Beetham Tower (built on a redevelopment site formally a railway junction) are in the background.
