The face of the human foetus at about 8 weeks, at which time the infant roughly resembles the ultimate adult human being. The retina of the eye is visible as a large dark spot, & the features of the nose & mouth are beginning to appear. The hand is seen at top right. The cell divisions so rapid in the first 2 months are beginning to slow down: a further doubling in size will take several weeks.
