Entrance to the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre (ITAC) Harris Street, Ultimo, Sydney, NSW, Australia – named in honour of five-time Gold Medal winning Olympic champion, Ian Thorpe, this iconic $40 million facility has three indoor heated pools and other fitness and leisure facilities. It was one of the last buildings designed by the famous Australian architect Harry Seidler and is noted for its curved roof design suggesting a breaking ocean wave. When Seidler died in 2006 the project was completed under the supervision of his widow, Penelope, and opened in August 2007.
