Earthquake monitoring hut, Loomis Ranger Station, visitor center, Lassen National Park, California
The historic Loomis Museum and Visitor Center and the seismograph hut at Lassen National Park are located next to Manzanita Lake. It offers exhibits, an auditorium and bookstore, featuring photographs of the 1914-1915 eruption cycle. Take a walk on the Manzanita Lake Trail and Lily Pond Nature Trail for spectacular views of Lassen Peak and the Chaos Craqs. Additionally, birds, waterfowl and wildlife may be spotted. In the summer, ranger-led programs are available.
