Friuli Venezia Giulia, mount Sei Busi, an Italian trench. Monte Sei Busi: an inscription on the plaster of the Italian trench. Soldiers lived in awful hygienic conditions: mice, the stink of excrements and of the putrefying corpses that were left in the no-man land. Yet, in their hours of rest, they left their inscriptions, a date, or a drawing, or a name inscribed in the concrete wall, to convince themselves that they were still alive.
