Construction of the Needle Eye Bridge over the M1 at Barnsley, South Yorkshire, 1963. During the construction of the M1 in the early 1960s a great number of bridge structures needed to be created. One such bridge was Needle Eye, which is located on the Barnsley section. Built by Dowsett Civil Engineering, the bridge was photographed for the Yorkshire Bank's report and accounts in April of 1963.
