On Thursday, November 19, 1914, we com-memorate the meeting held in this building, andattended by President Lincoln and his staff, ac-companied by the patriot, John Burns, on Thurs-day, November 19, 1863. But for the initiative of Mr. David Wills,we would not be assembled for this significantservice. As President of the Soldiers NationalCemetery Association at Gettysburg, Judge Willshad charge of all the arrangements for the dedi-cation of the Cemetery, and it was on his officialinvitation that President Lincoln came to Gettys-burg on that occasion. Judge Wills suggested and was largely instru-mental in bringing to fruition the patriotic meet-ing which was held in this church on the day ofth
