A small worm was collected with Crassonemertes robust a from 0-800 m. at 6°55'N, i5°54'W. It was fixed in corrosive sublimate. No note was made of the colour and form in life. The preserved specimen (N 169) was 7 mm. long and resembled the post-larval stage of a fish. It was white, somewhat flattened and had a tail fin. The sections show a very large brain (Fig. 62 A) completely filling the head. It seems evident, however, that the specimen has suffered shrinkage from the fixative and this has probably affected the basement layer and muscles. The most striking feature apart from the size of the brain is the thickness and size of the rhynchocoel and its wall. The latter
