Detroit, Michigan - A statue of Gen. Thaddeus Kosciuszko, who fought for American independence in the Revolutionary War, and later for Polish independence from Russia. The statue was a gift in 1978 from the people of Krakow to commemorate the American bicentenntial. It is a replica of a state at Wawel Castle in Krakow.
